To interest teachers, administration employees and
maintenance/service employees in its wellness
campaign, the Conroe Independent School District
produced newsletters and fliers outlining the
campaign's activities (aerobics, walking/jogging,
quit-smoking classes) and explaining the various
promotional products presented to those completing each
activity. The products, imprinted with the district's
name and special "Enjoy life ... be well" logo,
included water bottles, insulated lunch bags, mugs,
T-shirts, buttons, tote bags, nutrition booklets, pens
and golf towels. The 20-percent participation in the
program generated was double the projected figure.
The campaign netted a PPA Gold Pyramid Award.
