The objective of this promotion was to increase sales
during an annual springtime sales drop. For a two month
period, Geico Direct auto insurance
sales counselors got a taste of international intrigue.
Allowing the counselors to assume the identities of
spies entangled in covert operations. Geico launched
"Mission Possible." The spy themed campaign was
introduced at a "briefing" with the distribution of
cardboard briefcases containing an assortment of spy
equipment including cell phone-shaped water bottles,
spy sunglasses and candy-filled bombs. Correct quiz
answers earned some sales counselors "Mission Possible"
embroidered jackets and additional items were awarded
throughout the campaign to keep the message fresh.
With a 43.2 percent sales increase over the same period
the previous year, Geico classified the program
"Mission Accomplished."
